What’s going on for men at The Lantern
Mens Events
What we’ve got going on
It's great for blokes to meet together and encourage one another to live for Christ and not be ashamed of what we believe! We have a range of men's events for us to get together and also invite our mates to - whatever stage in their spiritual journey.
Saturdads
SATURDADS is a monthly toddler group for dads (and grandads) and their kids up to age 7. We meet on the first Saturday of the month 10:00-11:30 in the Lantern church. There’s toys and toast for the kids and random monthly challenges (with a prize for the winner!) & bacon rolls for the dads. We have a brief Bible talk normally involving the kids. First session is free then £1 per family. It’s a great time for dads to relax with their kids and to get to meet and have a laugh with other local dads. Feel free to come and give us a try or tell anyone who may be interested. Email Peter Owen to find out more.
SATURDADS is now paused for the summer, the next session will be on the 5th of September.
Men of Hope
Men of Hope is a group for men from all walks of life to come together every third Friday of the month in the Lantern Church and enjoy community time spent over the pool table, table football, ping pong and darts, from 7:30-9pm.
9pm-9:30pm - having time in smaller groups to discuss:
What has gone well recently?
What has been challenging recently?
What, if anything, would you like prayer for?
Free entry, soft drinks available, bring your own beer!
Email Peter Owen to find out more.
Men at Eight Arch
On the first Friday of each month a group of men from the Lantern meet at Eight Arch brewery for a drink and to talk, life, faith and football! If you’d be interested in going along get in contact with Chris Weal via the link below.
27:17 Iron Sharpens Iron
Lead by Chris Rowden, this is a ministry all around men growing physically and spiritually.
Chris says:
“I believe God is raising up Spirit-filled men to live wholeheartedly for the Gospel like never before. But are we prepared, stronger in spirit and body, to lead well and serve with strength? If we’re called to live purposefully for God’s kingdom, shouldn’t our bodies reflect that commitment?”
What: 27:17 is a monthly training session for men to pray together, train together, connect with Jesus and sharpen themselves for lives of purpose and mission.
