Whether you would say you’ve been a Christian for years or are just starting to explore faith, we’d love to get to know you, and welcome you into our community. A Sunday service is a great place to get started.
What do Sunday’s look like
What to expect?
Services at the Lantern are a lot of fun! They always involve a time of singing, a short talk, prayers (talking and listening to God) and lots of other exciting elements. You can participate as much or as little as you want to.
Do I have to bring anything?
At the Lantern, we want you to feel comfortable coming as you are. It is helpful to bring a Bible; however, most readings will be projected on a screen, so no worries if you don’t!
Is there a dress code?
Definitely not. Come dressed in what you feel comfortable, be that a suit and tie or shorts and flip-flops.
Do I have to sing?
We believe that meeting with God through worship is important. One of the ways we do this is through singing but there is no expectation for you to sing at all. If you would just prefer to listen to the music and reflect, then that's absolutely fine.
Is there kids work during the service?
Yes! We have groups available for ages 0-11, find someone in a blue kids t shirt and they can point you in the right direction!

Just exploring?
If you have questions around faith and want a safe place to ask those and explore, why not try an Alpha course? It’s a safe space to ask all those questions! And there’ll be friendly faces and awesome food! Or why not check out ‘The Point’, a group that meets in the Allendale centre in Wimborne, exploring a less traditional way of ‘doing Church’, a great way to explore faith and experience community.
Alpha Course
Explore Christianity in a relaxed way at our autumn Alpha course. Join us for food, short talks, and discussions. No commitment needed for the first evening. Everyone is welcome.
The Point
Join us at The Point in Wimborne's Costa Coffee for an informal weekly opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a welcoming community with live music, a short talk, and discussion. Ideal for those interested in faith but not traditional church.
